Ten individuals have been remanded in custody on alleged drugs possession charges. The suspects were said to be arrested in anti-narcotics operations in the Kanifing Municipality, West Coast and Lower River Region.
Five were reportedly arrested in the Kanifing Municipality, four in West Coast Region and one in the Lower River Region. DLEAG said 64-year-old Wuyeh Sillah and 25-year-old Sisawo Jatta were arrested on 18th February with 30 bundles of suspected Cannabis Sativa.
The arrests were reportedly effected at Brikama Mansaring Suu. Another suspect, Lamin Baldeh of Faraba Sutu, was reportedly apprehended with 11 bundles of suspected Cannabis whilst 55-year-old Abdoulie Jallow of Gunjur was reportedly nabbed at New Yundum with one big bundle and 57 wraps of suspected marijuana concealed in a motor bike.
Abdoulie Gaye was said to be arrested at Faji Kunda on 17th February with 68 stones of suspected hashish and 38 parcels of suspected Cannabis Sativa. The DLEAG’s Tanji office also reportedly arrested 20-year-old Sainey Jammeh with 85 wraps of suspected Cannabis and 24-year-old Ebrima Bah with three parcels and 28 wraps of suspected weed.
Meanwhile in Lower River Region, 32-year-old Senegalese national Abdoulie Drammeh has been taken into custody following his reported arrest at Yelli Tenda checkpoint with 18 stones of suspected hashish. The suspects were in custody, helping with investigations.
