National People´s Party (NPP) executive member Seedy Njie was unreceptive when contacted by The Progress Newspaper to shed light on reports the party’s executives were finding it tough to meet President Adama Barrow.
According to sources, NPP is currently dealing with a low-level internal wrangling few weeks after defeating the opposition parties in last December’s poll.
“NPP executive members have planned more than two meetings with President Barrow but could not still meet him due to certain issues,” said a source familiar with the story. “Last weekend was the last time that the executives were to meet Barrow, but they could not.
Lots of wrinkles have been emerging in the party since it’s declared victory,” another source said. When contacted to shed light on why Mr. Barrow was not in the mood to entertain NPP executive members as reported, one of the party’s mouthpieces Seedy Njie hung the phone on this reporter and the line went dead.
