Sports Minister announces a possible double bonus for Scorpion for their game against Mali

Honourable Bakary Y. Badjie, Minister of Youth and Sports earlier today visited the team, in Buea in Cameroon where he had a lunch with them and witnessed their match day meeting.

The Minister announced that government and the National Coordination Committee (NCC) have decided to offer double bonus payment to the team if they secure a win or draw with Mali in their January 16, 2022, match. Where they have battle with Mali at 1.00pm, as both teams fight for top spot of group F.

The Minister has also extended his congratulations to the team for having secured a win in their first game and encouraged them to repeat the same victory against Mali.

He informed the team that the whole country, including President Adama Barrow, the main opposition leaders and Gambians of all background have united in celebrating and supporting the team.

And the Scorpion have made it by securing a 1-1 drew in the second matchday of group F of the AFCON 2022, the goals were scored by Ibrahima Koné at minute 79′ for Mali, the Gambian goal was scored by Musa Barrow at minute 90+1′.
