Weekly situation report on seizure of drugs across the country

From the 8 to 14 January 2022, DLEAG stations across the country registered a total number of eighteen (18) cases involving twenty-one (21) suspects.

DLEAG’s Banjul Command registered one (1) case involving three (3) suspects who attempted to smuggle contrabands concealed in three different body lotion creams into the Mile Two State Central Prison.

DLEAG’s West Coast Command registered six (6) cases involving six (6) suspects clutched with different quantities of controlled and prohibited drugs at diverse locations within the region.

In the Kanifing Municipality, seven (7) suspects were nabbed with different quantities of prohibited drugs. The region registered a total number of six (6) cases

The North Bank Regional Command registered three (3) cases involving three (3) suspects nabbed with different quantities of prohibited drugs. Some of the cases registered involved joint operations and patrols conducted with personnel of The Gambia Police Force

DLEAG’s Upper River Regional Command registered two (2) cases involving two (2) suspects arrested with prohibited drugs.

We commend and celebrate the operatives for their commitment and dedication to duty. Some of these operations were conducted in very risky conditions and harsh terrains. However, they never relented neither waiver in their quest to attain their goal and get the job done
