The Newcomers Sintet United who are playing the third Division for the first time in their history are off to a flying start. Bakary Sambou’s tap-in was the only goal of the evening, against
Nema United of Farato on Friday the 21st January 2022 at the Farato Main field.
Sintet United are the only team from Foni Jarrol to ever play in the countrys third division and they did so in style, outnumbering a more experience side (Nema United) who are playing in this competition for the second successful year.
Sintet began to light up the contest when Yusupha Secka’s well taken delivery was nearly converted in, but it was not enough to open the scoring. The Sintet boys came calling again in the 43rd minute, and this time the ball rolled to the net, when Bakary Sambou beautifully converted from close range, leading to wild celebrations from the away fans.
Bakary Sambou spoke to the Progress News Paper after the game, Sambou promised his fans that he would score in every game. He is widely call Rooney and Sambou described the man as his idol, ironically his favorite team is Barcelona and his dream is to play for them one day.
Speaking to the progress News Paper after the game with all smiles, Lamin Kanyi the gaffer for Sintet United described this win as a perfect way to start the season, he said this victory will be a moral booster to his boys. He urged all Sintet fans around the country to rally behind the team while promising the team’s success.
Nema United fans, however, were not happy with the referee after claiming a penalty on two occasions, in responds to those cries, Abdoulie Marong the head coach of Nema United said, he was not a fan of blaming referees. He described those claims as a thing of the past, pointing out that their focus was now on the next game.
