9 Year Muhammed Sonko

Mohammed Sonko, a nine-year-old drowned in river, while playing at the wharf in Tendaba village with friends on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021. And the search for his remains is still on going.  He is the son of Mr Bakary Sonko aka pasonko (Master) and Jarai Sanyang of Brikama Misira West Coast Region. Mr Sonko is a National Mental Health Program Manager and a visiting lecturer at UTG, AIUWA and the Gambia College School of Nursing.

Muhammed Sonko was attending Formal Islamic school and the informal Dara, too. We are appealing the public especially those in the coastal areas and residents on either edge of the River Gambia Bank to look out for any image or object that may stand out in and around the waters.

Mohammed was a very promising young man with so much potential and his passing left our entire community in pain and sadness. If anyone happen to have any helpful information please contact your local police station, radio stations or Newspapers and family will be notified immediately. We ask you to kindly keep Mohammed and his entire family in your prayers and thank you sincerely in advance.”
