Bissau’s Emballo Leaves Before Barrow Swears-in

President Emballo and President Barrow

The President of Guinea Bissau left the Independence Stadium even before his host was being sworn in. Umaru Sisokho Emballo was among a glittering array of West African leaders invited to grace Mr. Barrow’s inauguration.

It could not be immediately established why Mr. Emballo left the inauguration venue before his host read out his speech but this was the second of it’s kind. It would be recalled that late last year, President Emballo hastily delivered a statement at the commissioning of the OMVG sub-station in Soma and left immediately without having to wait and listen to his host’s speech on the sub-regional energy interconnection line project.
