Lands ministry unveils members of commission in KMC corruption scandal

The Ministry of Local Government Monday unveiled members of the commission set up to probe KMC corruption scandal. KMC was thrown into a state of chaos some months ago when reports of corruption against its CEO Sainabu Martin and some staff emerged.

The CEO and incriminated staff stand accused of embezzling millions of Dalasi from the council. The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Local Government,Buba Sanyang,Monday told Progress that the commission will be chaired by Omar Cham.

Momodou Sallah, a veteran in local governance and Mam Sait Jallow were unveiled as members whilst Momodou Mballow has been named as the commission’s lead council. PS Sanyang told this reporter that the composition of the commission was an indication of the seriousness the lands ministry attached to the KMC corruption scandal.
