Cuba congratulates the Gambia on the 57th anniversary of its Independence

Banjul, Feb 15th Cuba congratulated the Republic of the Gambia on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of its independence, to be held next Friday, February 18th, in messages sent by the highest authorities of the Caribbean Island to their counterparts in this nation of the western Africa.

In a cordial letter, the president of the largest of the Antilles, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, conveyed congratulations to the Gambian head of state, Adama Barrow, for such an important historical date, and reiterated the will of his government and people to continue expanding the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Antillean archipelago, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, did the same to his counterpart, Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara, to whom, in addition to congratulating him, he always expressed his intention to strengthen the historical ties between the two nations.

The Gambia and Cuba maintain very positive diplomatic ties based on mutual precepts of solidarity and brotherhood and are working to intensify collaboration in various spheres.
