The Blue Army [Falcons FC] have tasted their first league defeat in the hands of the Ferry Boys [Gambia Ports Authority] on Saturday the 8th of January at the late Ousman Saho football field [LOSFF] in Yundum, Gambia Ports Authority dominated all angles in the pitch, their passing’s were slick, the movements were mesmeric, and it did pay off. Creating clear cut chances that with a bit of luck would have been buried home.

Mustering their first shot on-target in the 30th minute highlights how poor Falcons were, when Bakuta Njie’s attempted shot from outside the box was calmly controlled by GPA’S keeper Omar Njie. The liveliest player on the pitch was GPA’S Assan Gaye, whose marauding runs, and teasing crosses were a nightmare for the blue army.

With all the dominance the ferry boys were not able to break the deadlock until the 7th minute of the second half when Bakary Jatta clipped the ball on top of the rushing Falcon’s keeper leading to wild celebrations from the Ports fans. GPA’S victory was sealed in the 79th minute when Bakary Jatta doubled his side’s advantage and his second goal of the evening.
